All courses are approved by the ASRT for Category “A” CEU and meets in all or inpart, if attendance is less than 16 hours, the new ARRT® requirement of 16 hours of structured education requirement to apply to sit for an ARRT® advanced board.

Course Purpose
This course is designed to give the Technologist basic knowledge of breast ultrasound in preparation of continuing their education in the clinical setting. This course is also designed to be a basic course for board review.

- Role of Breast US in the Mammography Department
- Terminology
- Basic principal fundamentals of Breast Ultrasound
- Technologist’s credentials needed to become ARRT® Board Registered in Breast Ultrasound
- Understanding Sonographic Equipment

Day II
- Patient assessment
- Patient rights and safety
- Patient education
- Image Production
- Representative images evaluation and selection

Day III
- Breast anatomy and physiology
- Benign breast conditions
- Malignant breast conditions
- High risk breast conditions
- Surgical and treatment effects on breast tissue
- Interventional procedures performed used in breast ultrasound
- Case studies in breast ultrasound
** Class start time is 7:55am each day
